Voila la biographie d' un grand realisateur (et français SVP)
Luc Besson passe son enfance dans les îles avec ses parents, professeurs de plongée au Club Méditerranée. Il veut suivre leurs traces, mais un accident de plongée l'en empêche. Luc Besson se tourne alors vers le cinéma : il est stagiaire sur plusieurs tournages dont ceux de Loulou et de Deux lions au soleil. Il est également assistant sur Les Bidasses aux grandes manœuvres et réalisateur de seconde équipe sur Le Grand carnaval.

Après avoir mis en scène le court métrage L'Avant dernier (1981), il fonde avec Pierre Jolivet la maison de production Les Films du Loup. C'est via cette société que Luc Besson réalise en 1983 le film de science-fiction Le Dernier combat, nommé aux César. Il enchaîne, deux ans plus tard, avec le polar moderne Subway, un projet laissé à l'abandon en 1981. Dans ce film, les sous-sols du métro parisien sont le théâtre des aventures de deux stars de l'époque : Christophe Lambert et Isabelle Adjani.

Mais c'est avec la déferlante du Grand bleu que Luc Besson obtient son premier véritable succès public, et ce malgré les critiques assassines dont cet hommage déguisé au plongeur Jacques Mayol fait l'objet lors de sa présentation au Festival de Cannes 1988. Luc Besson retrouvera le monde de la mer trois ans plus tard pour Atlantis, un documentaire muet mis en musique par le compositeur Eric Serra, complice du cinéaste.

En 1990, Luc Besson fait de sa compagne d'alors, Anne Parillaud, l'héroïne du film policier Nikita. Sa poignante prestation de tueuse à gages vaudra à la comédienne le César de la Meilleure actrice. Dans le même registre, il imagine son acteur fétiche Jean Reno dans un rôle de "nettoyeur", celui de Léon en 1994. Ce carton au box-office lui permet de mettre en oeuvre un projet très ambitieux, le futuriste Cinquième élément (1997), avec un budget colossal de 90 millions de dollars et un casting international composé de Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman et Milla Jovovich. Celle-ci campera deux ans plus tard sa Jeanne d'Arc.

Au tournant des années 2000, le cinéaste décide de délaisser la caméra pour se consacrer essentiellement, via sa société EuropaCorp, à la production d'oeuvres souvent froidement reçues par la critique mais encensées par le public comme la saga Taxi ou celle du Transporteur. Il lance de nouveaux talents comme Chris Nahon (Le Baiser mortel du dragon, 2001), Louis Leterrier (Danny the dog, 2005) ou Pierre Morel (Banlieue 13 2004), et devient un partenaire de choix pour financer des productions internationales telles que Revolver (2005) de Guy Ritchie et Trois enterrements (id.) de Tommy Lee Jones.

Passé maître dans l'art de se faire désirer, Luc Besson retourne ensuite à la réalisation avec deux films aux registres diamétralement opposés : la comédie romantique Angel-A (2005), tournée dans le plus grand secret à Paris, puis le film d'animation Arthur et les Minimoys, adaptation de son propre livre pour enfants.
